Oatmeal Linen Robe with Shawl Collar Supplier | Washed Linen Dressing Gown
A long linen robe in oatmeal, cut with a shawl collar, low patch pockets and a self-tie belt. The linen is washed before cutting, so the robe has already taken its first shrink and the surface has a soft, slightly irregular texture rather than the crisp finish of raw linen. The front edge is turned and topstitched, and the belt is cut from the same length of cloth. Shown here over a matching cami and wide leg pants, the robe also works as a cover-up on its own.
Fabric & Design Highlights — Washed Linen Robe
Linen is a bast fibre from flax, and its natural irregularity - slubs, thicker and thinner yarns - is what gives the surface its character. It creases because the fibre has low elasticity; washing and garment-dyeing soften that without removing it, which is why linen is sold as a lived-in fabric rather than a pressed one. A mid-weight 180-200 gsm holds the robe's shape; below 160 gsm it becomes a beach cover-up. Garment dyeing after sewing gives a softer, more uneven colour than yarn dyeing.
- Washed before cutting, so the robe will not shrink after purchase.
- Slubs and irregular yarns are inherent to flax, not a defect.
- Mid-weight 180-200 gsm holds shape; lighter reads as a cover-up.
- Garment dyeing gives a softer, uneven colour than yarn dyeing.
- Turned and topstitched front edge keeps the linen from fraying.
- Weight, wash and dye method can be specified.
Key Features — Why Choose This Washed Linen Robe
Linen is the fibre buyers ask for by name in resort ranges.
A washed finish removes the stiffness of off-the-loom linen.
Oatmeal is the most photographed linen colour after white.
A long robe doubles as a beach or pool cover-up.
Patch pockets sit low, so the belt line stays clean.
Weight, colour and wash can be matched to your range.
