Women's Modal Blend Striped Wide Leg Lounge Pants, Loungewear Manufacturer
A pull-on lounge pant in a modal-blend jersey, striped with a fine horizontal line and finished with a covered elastic waist. The leg is wide from the hip down and the stripe is fine enough to read as a texture at a distance rather than a graphic. Horizontal stripes on a knit are unforgiving - if the panel is cut off-grain the stripe will climb across the leg - so the cloth is relaxed and cut flat before sewing. Shown in chocolate with a cream stripe; the stripe can be recoloured or rescaled.

A fine horizontal stripe is a registration test for the cutting room. On a tubular knit the stripe spirals slightly, so the panel has to be cut against the actual course line of the fabric rather than the printed selvedge marker. If it is cut to the marker instead, the stripe will run off level across the front of the leg and the fault shows most in a full-length wide leg, where the eye follows the line all the way down. The waist is a covered elastic for the same reason the leg is wide: it keeps the drape uninterrupted, so the stripe reads as one surface from waist to hem.
