The printer lays the repeat so a block line falls on the centre front; the cutting room then matches the pocket and the sleeve head to that line by hand, and the seamstress keeps the join on the block rather than on the seam allowance. Cream piping is chosen against the burgundy for contrast, and it has to be cut on the bias so it turns the collar without a kink. The pant hem carries the same piping, which is the detail that makes the set read as one garment rather than a top and a bottom that match.
